Special Committee of the Whole

THAT Committee of the Whole receive the Director of Planning and Economic Initiatives Presentation on Beachfront Planning Parameters; That Committee of the Whole recommend to Council that it direct staff to implement any changes to the Planning Parameters agreed to by Committee; That Committee of the Whole recommend to Council how Beck Square (84 Mosely Street) is to be included in the future development of Beach Area 1 lands; That Committee of the Whole recommend to Council that it indicate as part of the Request for Proposal Document that it is prepared to work with the selected developers under the provisions of the Municipal Act, Planning Act and the Town of Wasaga Beach Official Plan to facilitate the redevelopment of Beach Area 1 lands; That Committee of the Whole recommend to Council that it direct staff to write to each private property owner in the Beach Area 1 redevelopment area advising that they may be contacted by one of the short listed developers interested in working with them on a development proposal. Resolved that pursuant to Section 239 (2) (c) of the Municipal Act, 2001 , as amended, the next portion of the September 15, 2020 Committee of the Whole Meeting will move into Closed Session to discuss a proposed or pending acquisition or disposition of land by the municipality or local board. That Committee confirm the direction provided to the CAO in Closed Session, pertaining to property matters.

That Committee of the Whole recommend to Council that subject to the selection of the preferred option for the Beach Drive Environmental Assessment, the 1st and 3rd Street road allowances, and the 2nd Street North road allowance to the limit of the LCBO property, be included as part of the lands included in the Request for Proposals for the Redevelopment of the Beach Area 1 Lands; That Committee of the Whole recommend to Council that the lands on the west side of the Main Street pedestrian mall and a portion of the lands in Playland Festival Square Parking lot not be included as part of the lands included in the Request for Proposals for the Redevelopment of the Beach Area 1 Lands.
